Fashion Experiments - Summer White


White is one of the colors that never go out of style. We have summer white, winter white, spring white - you name it. It just goes with every other color and every season and makes all the outfits feel fresh, polished and sensually cool. 

I like a lot white for summer as it gives me that very relaxed vibe that people normally have after holidays, it goes perfectly well with all the colors muting some and highlighting others, and it goes great with my skin tone. It boosts up my mood, I feel pretty cool when wearing white. 

Think of an all-white look with a red lip and black shoes for contrast, or of crisp white pants and jeans shirt, peach lips and glow-y cheeks, white dress and Grecian inspired sandals, white shirt and colored pants, white skirt and grey t-shirt - just few combinations that pop into my mind when thinking of white - possibilities are endless.

Experiments Talk - Working out motivation

Continuous and sustainable exercise is improving the general body condition and it helps skin age slowly by helping the body increase the general production of elastin and collagen. It helps the blood maintain a natural flow and consistency, it irrigates all the body organs and so on. I am pretty sure most of us are quite familiar with how many benefits we can have from daily exercise.

But the biggest problem we face is motivation. It is hard to start and even harder to continue especially when alone. But beyond any tips, any information that is out there, the most important thing for each individual is to have that moment to realize on it's own, without any outside influence, that exercise is good for the body and for the soul. In the moment when the brain makes the click, then you are set to go. You will need at times motivation, friends with whom to share thoughts, workout gear etc. But if you clicked, you are sold. However no one can do that for you, no matter the tone of information around, you will always be informed but unwilling. So first step is to just think about it in peace, have your moment when you let the idea flow within you and see how it feels.

Ideally, after decision is taken, action should also be taken immediately - keep momentum! Pick the best form of exercising that fits your needs, body type, metabolism and go with those. Don't lose trust when you're body is reacting slower at the beginning, when everything aches and when motivation is gone missing. If you pass the first stage you are sold forever, it will be very hard to have one day without any sort of workout, let alone quit.

So, here are some ideas that helped me pass the first stage:
  • music - I bought myself huge headset, made a selection of amazing songs and every time I go out running I just turn that loud and let the sound run through my ears, my body - I just find that, for 45 minutes, time freezes
  • make small goals for yourself - something like: this week I plan to run 4 times/ in 1 month I plan to lose x kg etc - whatever works for you. Be quite realistic though and have in mind to pick from the start what type of exercise you want: toning and maintenance or weight loss. 
  • plan a bit ahead - take your small goal and add a small plan to it: I want to run 4 times this week and I will do it Monday/ Wed/ Sat/Sun - you get the drill. Planning your workout is the same as planning your office work, the better the planning, the greater the results.
  • be consistent, don't make excuses - this is the hardest one. It took me a lot of time to get over this one. But once I fully understood and saw how good exercising is for me generally I found it harder and harder to find excuses not to run. 
I now made a routine of running around 4 times a week during working days, once or twice a week I do indoor exercising and Saturday/Sunday I usually go for very long walks or biking in my neighborhood. Now it feels so hard to let a day pass without any form of exercising, but the beginning was tough though :)

So it actually all goes to the image question - Will you? 
[Not to be pushy here, but you need to:). The hectic times we live, nutrition, stressed work environments usually leave you drained. 30 min of exercising daily or even once in 2 days will clean up everything a day of work did to you.]

Monday's color - Red

Start your week in an energized manner! You know, the way you start your Monday can influence the way you feel for the entire week, it's all in your attitude (remember this one?). Now, you don't want to mess with that, do you?

Red is one of the most energizing colors that we have in Pantone code and fairly enough, it can totally brighten your day. So, be sneaky and wear something red today:) - whatever you like!

Use also few small tips to ease your way through your tasks that can decrease the burden you feel at the beginning of the week:
  • make to-do lists: 1 with the objectives for the entire week or longer period/ 1 for today to keep you focused
  • prepare your coffee extra good today so when you sip it you have a very rewarding feeling
  • take few breaks during the day for chatting with colleagues or for getting inspiration around the web (depending how sociable you are)
  • keep a positive mood
  • try to work few hours in a row without allowing distractions, rewards yourself with 5-10 min brakes of air, walking around the office - moving your body generally


And don't forget, great coffee, positive attitude, love for yourself and joy for all the small things in life will take you a long long way!

3 things you can do this Sunday for yourself



It's raining so beautifully outside! The sun is also shining and the contrast colors that come from light and water are amazing. Summer rains are one of those most beautiful moments that you can take advantage off. 
During rain, usually everything around quiets down. No noise, no disruptions. Use these moments to the fullest for yourself.

  • make yourself a delicious hot coffee, take your favorite book and sit by the window. Enjoy your read but also the beauty of rain and the tranquility sound of water against your window. It brings instant peace of mind.



  • when the rain stops for a bit, put your raining boots on and go outside - enjoy the fresh smell that only after the rain prevails, enjoy the nature sounds. A 30 min walk after the rain is over has an amazing effect on the body and soul.








  • Finish your day with a hot steamy bath. This is totally great way to clean the day off. Prepare your bath, use some essential oils and bath salts, some nice relaxing music on the background, candles and dip in. Let all your senses get suspended in the multitude of attractions.

Weekend reading - 31/05/2014

Ah, weekend is finally here! Boy, this week was a long one!! Crowded days at work, ups and downs, all those itsy ingredients that get you exhausted by Friday. So here I am, looking forward to 1 day of peace and relaxation (today I am actually booked to a family meeting which I am trying to get out of my mind not to get mad about it). I plan on reading, catching up on magazines, eating lots of ice-cream, sleeping a lot. Basically just doing a lot of nothing. I might even put up a silent day for my husband, let's just see how critical I get (muahauah!!).

And back to reading, here are some links I found and really liked:  

  • Work smarter, not harder - super cool article, I loved every tip from it. Some (most) can be easily implemented right away and definitely can change a lot of how I am seeing some things - truly worth checking!
  • Wedding confessions - this one was hilarious and creepy in some part - definitely you must check it out! I oblige you:)
  • Vitamin cures for fantastic skin - I saved this one actually for home diys. The advises in the article are so easy to be done and at hand for everyone so take a look, something will be helpful for sure!
